Coastal and underwater cleaning action in Delos, by OFET & V GROUP
The iconic Greek island of light, Delos, was chosen for second year by the Tsetis Pharmaceutical Group of companies with the companies UNI-PHARMA & InterMed, for the voluntary action of coastal and underwater cleaning that took place on Saturday, September 3, 2022.
This year we collaborated with the V GROUP Group of companies, under the auspices of the Municipality of Mykonos and the support of the Mykonos Port Authority, the Ephorate of Antiquities of the Cyclades and the Ephorate of Marine Antiquities.
The dynamic volunteer groups of the OFET & V Group, jointly embracing the values of social contribution and environmental protection, cleaned the beaches of the island of waste, while experienced groups of divers engaged in the collection and removal of waste from the bottom of the sea of the island. The collected waste from the two cleaning actions was collected in special transport packages and taken for management to the modern facilities of the V GROUP Group.
The significant initiative of the two Groups is the result of wider cooperation on the basis of common corporate values, goals and mission related to the promotion of sustainable development, the adoption of the principles of the circular economy, the full utilization of waste (zero waste), as well as the offer to society to ensure sustainability for future generations.
Deeply aware of the responsibility they bear towards the natural and social environment in which they operate, the OFET & V GROUP Groups of companies have long experience in the development of voluntary actions with the participation of a large number of employees, who embrace the Groups' actions for the benefit of sustainable development and social contribution, acting as a role model for the wider professional and social environment, which they wish to positively influence and inspire with their philosophy and actions.
Mrs Smaragdi Talaki, Head of HR and CSR of OFET Group, mentioned about the action: "Cooperation is a key pillar for sustainable development and the joy is greater when we cooperate with companies like V Group in such voluntary actions. At UNI-PHARMA and InterMed we are all committed to serving health with passion, creativity and ethics, because human life is our biggest priority. We are constantly looking for innovative medical care solutions, contribute to improving the quality of life and work hard to prevent and treat diseases of modern man. At the same time, we are proud of our ongoing and tireless actions aimed at supporting vulnerable groups in society, science, the new generation and the environment."
Mrs Natassa Triantafyllidou, Climate Change & Sustainability Manager of the V GROUP, mentioned in this regard: "We are particularly happy for the cooperation with the OFET Group and the success of the voluntary action which is only the beginning of a series of joint actions for the offer to society as a whole and in the natural environment. As a model environmental and energy Group, V GROUP directly links its development with sustainability and implements actions that promote the principles of rational waste management and circular economy, as they are consistent with its vision of creating a legacy of values that they will inspire and motivate future generations to strive for sustainable development while maintaining intact respect for the environment.”
